This article looks at some of the Daltons who lived at Bispham, Croston and Thurnham, in particular Robert Dalton of Bispayne, the younger brother of Sir Rychard of Apethorpe.  Dick deals with the problem of "Which Bispham?" and discusses why Rychard, son of Robert is described as "Of Croston".  Rychard's son Roger has a will of 1531 in which he is described as of Dalton Hall in Yorkshire and of Croston.  In the will he says he wants to be buried in Croston Church next to the tomb of his father.  The article also discusses Roger's son William, William's son Robert of Thurnham and their connection with the Fitzgerald family.
