 West RD* to Richard Dalton, subconstable and Maria Stewart.*

25 Nov. 1881: Richard Dalton at Ardogelley, Templeboy,  Dromore West RD to

 William Dalton, farmer and Mary McGuire.

  * RD= Registration District. Richard Dalton, RIC Constable, native of Co. Kerry, stationed in Co. Mayo, married Maria Stuart of Co. Clare on 6 Nov. 1854.

20 Aug. 1885: Joseph Dalton at Strand Hill,  Killaspughbrone, Sligo RD; age 29,

 national school teacher.

 

MISCELLANEOUS    Top

1796: Hugh Dalton, Irish flax grower of Dromard Parish, Tierragh Barony, Dromore West Poor Law Union, entitled to one spinning wheel.

1834: A Mr. Dalton was a national school teacher at Carrowmore, Kilmaconan Parish, Sligo Poor Law Union. The schoolhouse was renovated in 1994 and made into a school museum.

1. Ardogelly Townland:

John McGuire, age 74, farmer; wife Margaret age 64; daughter Mary McGuire,

 age 41, married; grandson Richard Dalton, age 18, farmer's son;

 niece Margaret Wynn, age 13, scholar. All are Roman Catholic.

2. Corckagh Beg Townland:

John Dalton, age 60, retired, not married, retired publican, b. Co. Wexford: visitor in  household of Stewart Wood, widower, age 75, b. Co. Sligo. All in household are of  Church of Ireland.
